As the youngest in my family, I have always looked up to my older sister. She seemed to have it all together, always doing well in school and participating in various extracurricular activities. However, as I got older, I couldn't help but wonder, does my older sister really love me?
Growing up, my older sister was always very protective of me. Whenever someone picked on me at school, she was the first to stand up for me. She made sure I was always included in activities with her friends, and she even gave up her own allowance to buy me a toy I had been wanting.
Looking back now, I realize how much her actions meant to me. Her love was definitely there, even when I couldn't see it. She was my protector, my champion, and my friend.
As my sister went off to college, I started to notice a shift in our relationship. She became busier with her own life, and we didn't talk as much as we used to. I felt like I was losing my sister, and it was difficult for me to accept.
It wasn't until I went off to college myself that I realized how much my sister still cared for me. She would send me care packages, call me just to see how I was doing, and even drive the four hours to visit me on the weekends.
Today, my sister and I have a strong bond that cannot be broken. She is still my protector and my champion, but she is also my confidant and my ally. She always gives me the best advice, listens to me when I need a shoulder to cry on, and makes me laugh when I need it the most.
Looking back on the question of whether or not my older sister really loves me, the answer was always there. She has always loved me, and she always will. She may not show it in the same way she did when we were younger, but that love is still there, and it is stronger than ever.
So to all the younger siblings out there wondering if their older siblings really love them, take it from me. They do. It may not always be obvious, but that bond of sibling love is unbreakable and will last a lifetime.
